GWII – The Year of YES – October Challenge

The Year of Yes continues…

October 2024 – Women’s Health Month

Building on the success of our Year of Yes, September 2024’s month of Eating Right and Feeling Bright, we are turning our focus to all things Women’s Health.

October is a pivotal month for raising awareness about crucial women’s health issues, including breast cancer, diabetes, and menopause. This challenge month invites individuals and communities to engage in educational activities, share personal stories, and promote discussions that foster understanding and support.
Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women, making it essential to emphasise early detection and regular screenings. By hosting awareness events, such as virtual seminars featuring healthcare professionals, we would like to encourage women to prioritise their health and stay informed about the latest research and treatment options. We will also be sharing survivor stories on our social media platforms in the hopes of inspiring solidarity among those affected.

By dedicating this month to women’s health awareness, we not only shine a light on these critical issues but also foster a community of support, knowledge, and empowerment. Together, we can make a difference!

What will this month entail?
The October challenge will include conversations around Women’s Health topics like Breast Cancer Awareness (with Prof Carol Benn), Diabetes and Menopause. Links will be shared on the group and on our social media platforms, please lookout for these.

Join us as we create awareness for these important issues and build a community of ladies willing to share their personal journeys, in the GWII Year of Yes!
