SPEAKER BIO
Washington Fellow Faith Mangope is an accomplished professional and broadcaster. She hosts Metro FM Talk on South Africa’s second-largest commercial radio station, engaging over 4 million listeners on socio-political and economic matters. She founded the Faith Mangope Technology and Leadership Institute, which equips young women from disadvantaged backgrounds with digital skills and places them in jobs after a year-long program.
Faith co-founded FMTALI-Tech, a tech solutions company predominantly staffed by women. She is the former host of “The South African Morning” on eNCA and former Station Manager of Massiv Metro, as well as former host of e.tv’s breakfast television show, Sunrise.
Recognised as one of South Africa’s Powerful Women by the Mail and Guardian in 2022, Faith was also named one of the Top 200 South Africans , as well as Top 100 Young South Africans by the Independent Newspapers in 2016.
She completed a three-year tenure as the host of a talk show on YFM and was the first South African to intern at Africa.Co. Faith founded FTA Media Communications and the New G App, which provides job opportunities for graduates. She is on the faculty at Duke University in South Africa, producing learning programs for top executives.
Faith is a member of the BRICS Business Council Skills Working Group and has delivered speeches at significant events, including introducing President Barack Obama at a White House event. She was appointed a Social Cohesion Advocate by the Department of Arts and Culture in 2014 and has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars. Featured in various publications, including The Times Newspaper, The Sowetan Newspaper, True Love Magazine, Glamour and more, Faith earned her degree from Wits University and is completing her Honors in Industrial Psychology.
