Gauteng Women in Insurance (GWII) hosted a Vibe and Venture Queen of the Green Golf Day at The Wanderers Golf Club on 26 May. This event, aimed at beginner golfers, provided an opportunity for women to hone their skills, enjoy a fun-filled day on the course, and strengthen their professional networks.
The event was designed to empower women in the insurance industry by introducing them to the basics of golf while also offering practical on-course experience. Attendees enjoyed a unique blend of learning, networking, and friendly competition, all set in the beautiful surroundings of The Wanderers Golf Club.
Order of events
The day began with a warm welcome from the GWII President, Velene Peters, who set the tone for the day and acknowledged the event sponsors. After a brief introduction, participants were given a golf etiquette class that prepared them for the day’s activities.
Next, the attendees were split into groups, each paired with professional golfers and proficient GWII members. The group activities included putting, chipping, and driving challenges, allowing everyone to put their newfound skills to the test in a fun and supportive environment.
After freshening up, everyone moved to the venue for drinks and snacks, followed by an exciting prize-giving ceremony. The evening concluded with relaxed networking, allowing attendees to share their experiences and build lasting connections.
